OSS探訪概要
Kong Gatewayはplatform-agnosticで拡張可能なAPI・LLM・MCP gatewayです。proxy、routing、load balancing、health check、authenticationを共通layerへ集約し、pluginとdeclarative configurationでtraffic policyを組み立てます。

RESTful Admin APIまたはdeclarative configurationでrouting、load balancing、health checkを設定できます。認証・認可、rate limit、request/response変換、logging、monitoringに加え、複数LLM providerのroutingやMCP security・observabilityも扱います。

microserviceとAI trafficへ共通policyを適用したい場合
複数serviceの入口で認証、routing、rate control、観測を揃えたいplatform teamの候補です。既存APIから始め、必要なplugin、database有無、Kubernetes Ingress Controllerとの責任分界を小さなtrafficで検証してください。

OSS Gatewayとcommercial Konnect、deployment modelを分ける
READMEのquick startはDocker ComposeとPostgresを使いますが、DB-lessやhybrid deploymentも選べます。Kong Inc.のKonnect Cloudは追加機能、support、managed control planeを含むcommercial subscriptionです。repositoryはApache License 2.0です。
