Overview
Faved is a bookmark manager for large collections, centered on hierarchical tags, fast search/filtering, and bulk actions. It fetches titles/descriptions/previews, detects duplicates, supports multiple layouts, PWA use, browser extensions/bookmarklets/Apple Shortcuts, and imports from browsers and other services. Self-hosting keeps data local. The latest release checked is v2.10.0.
Features and best fit
Based on official documentation; not hands-on tested · Content checked:
Use hierarchical tags to organize large libraries more flexibly than folders
Tags can be nested into structures such as Programming Languages → Backend, colored and described, rolled up through child tags, pinned, searched, and filtered directly from the sidebar.

Combine metadata fetching, duplicate detection, bulk actions, and quick capture tools
Faved fetches titles, descriptions, and preview images, detects duplicates, and supports bulk deletion, refetching, and tagging. Chrome extension, bookmarklet, and Apple Shortcuts integrations provide several ways to save links, with imports from browsers, Raindrop.io, Pocket, and other tools.

For users with thousands of saved links who need continuous reorganization through search and tags
It fits research, learning, and work libraries that have outgrown browser folders. The self-hosted stack uses PHP 8, SQLite, and Apache and does not require a cloud account.

Automated tagging is still planned, and metadata/imports depend on external sites
The README marks automated tagging as planned rather than current functionality. Metadata extraction and importers can be affected by changes in external sites or APIs. Self-hosted deployments should back up SQLite data and storage. Faved is MIT licensed.

Supplemental curator note
Faved is organized around hierarchical tags rather than only folders, making it suited to large bookmark libraries. Automated tagging is still marked as planned in the README and should not be treated as a current feature.
