Overview

Donetick is a self-hostable task manager for individuals, families, and groups. It combines flexible recurrence, automatic assignee rotation, subtasks, time tracking, notifications, NFC tags, Home Assistant, REST APIs, and webhooks to automate recurring household work. Share chores and automate recurrence and assignee rotation

Schedules can be daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, weekday-based, completion-relative, or adaptive. Assignees can rotate by completion count, randomly, or round-robin, while subtasks and time tracking support more detailed work.

Connect household tasks to NFC, notifications, Home Assistant, and APIs

NFC tags can complete tasks physically, while notifications can arrive through mobile clients, Telegram, Discord, or Pushover. Home Assistant exposes per-user to-do lists, and REST APIs/webhooks support custom automation.

Account for pre-1.0 changes, limited offline support, and API/OIDC permissions

The current release is v0.1.79. The README describes offline functionality as very limited. Self-hosting requires persistent SQLite/config data and backups. OIDC roles can synchronize from identity-provider groups at every login, so administrator and manager mappings are security-sensitive. Long-lived integrations should consider the limited eAPI rather than broad full API access. Donetick is AGPL-3.0.
