Overview

YAFFA is a self-hosted Laravel personal-finance application for tracking transactions, budgets, recurring items, investments, multiple currencies, and long-term forecasts while keeping financial data on your own infrastructure.

Features and best fit

Based on official documentation; not hands-on tested · Content checked:

Track multiple currencies, transactions, budgets, and recurring items together

Accounts, split categories, currencies, recurring transactions, and budgets can feed forecast data for long-term planning.

Sources: [2][3]

Use investment pricing, QIF/CSV import, and optional AI document entry

YAFFA can fetch investment prices, import QIF/CSV, and optionally extract transaction details from documents, email, or Google Drive through AI providers.

Sources: [2][3]

For users who prefer conscious transaction review over automatic bank feeds

The project intentionally favors reviewing and adjusting transactions manually as part of budgeting and financial awareness.

Sources: [2]

Treat it as personal finance, not accounting software

The README notes that dedicated precise-decimal libraries are not yet used. Investment and AI features also depend on external APIs or provider credentials.

Supplemental curator note

YAFFA intentionally avoids direct bank transaction downloads and emphasizes conscious review of spending. Its README also notes that dedicated precise-decimal libraries are not yet used, so it should be evaluated as a personal planning tool rather than accounting software.
