It includes kanban, Gantt, table, list, calendar, dashboards, documents, idea boards, and timesheets and can be self-hosted with the official Docker image. The latest release checked is v3.9.8.
Features and best fit
Based on official documentation; not hands-on tested · Content checked:
Connect goals and strategy to milestones and day-to-day tasks
Goals and metrics can be linked to planning, status updates, milestones, and To-Dos, helping teams retain the reason behind work rather than managing cards in isolation.

View work as kanban, Gantt, tables, or calendars and keep docs and time alongside it
Tasks can be viewed through kanban, Gantt, table, list, and calendar interfaces. The README also lists wikis/docs, idea boards, comments, and timesheets as included in the OSS version.

For teams that want goals, planning, and execution together rather than only a task board
It fits organizations looking for more planning depth than a Trello-style board without centering the entire workflow on software-development issue tracking. The project also states design goals that consider ADHD, dyslexia, and autism.

Plan MySQL persistence and upgrades, and review AGPL plus plugin exceptions
Docker deployments need persistent MySQL volumes and backups before upgrades. Official support is described for the latest version and official Docker Compose or standard installations. Leantime core is AGPLv3, while plugins under /app/Plugins may use other licenses including Enterprise terms. Release v3.9.8 also updates MCP endpoint behavior, so API/MCP authentication and permissions should be reviewed when enabled.

Supplemental curator note
Leantime goes beyond Trello-style tasks by connecting strategy and goals to day-to-day execution. Its accessibility-oriented design goals are worth evaluating in the actual workflow rather than assuming one interface fits every team.
