Overview

Mike (MikeOSS) is an open-source legal AI platform for chatting with matters/documents, review and suggested edits, drafting, tabular review workflows, and legal research. It integrates CourtListener for US case-law research, offers a beta Microsoft Word task-pane add-in, and can use local Ollama models. The latest release checked is v0.4.0.

Self-hosting does not prevent cloud LLM providers from receiving context when configured. MCP/Slack connectors can also receive data and may request write scopes such as chat:write. Sensitive deployments should consider local inference, least-privilege scopes, audit/retention controls, and organizational/legal policies. Mike is AGPL-3.0.
