Overview
Sentry is a developer-focused debugging platform for detecting application errors and performance problems, connecting them to traces and context, and moving an investigation toward a fix. Official SDKs cover JavaScript, Python, Java, Go, Rust, mobile platforms, game engines, and more.
Features and best fit
Based on official documentation; not hands-on tested · Content checked:
Collect issues and runtime context through language-specific SDKs
The official README describes Sentry as a debugging platform that helps every developer detect, trace, and fix issues. It links official SDK repositories for JavaScript, Electron, React Native, Python, Ruby, PHP, Go, Rust, Java and Kotlin, mobile platforms, .NET, native code, and game engines.

For bringing error tracking and performance investigation into development workflows
It is a candidate when a team wants to organize failures from multiple services and client applications into issues with release, environment, and trace context rather than relying on logs alone. Evaluate sensitive-data handling, alert volume, sampling, retention, and SDK overhead with representative traffic.

Read the FSL competing-use restriction and future license precisely
The current LICENSE.md is FSL-1.1-Apache-2.0. It permits internal use and non-commercial education and research, but excludes competing use that substitutes for Sentry or an existing Sentry product or service. An Apache-2.0 future license becomes effective for each version two years after that version is made available. Do not equate the current source-available terms with OSI-approved open source; check the use case and version date.

Supplemental curator note
Selected for leading error-monitoring and APM topics despite a common-word name, while showing why repeated license changes demand primary-source review.
