Overview
Wraft is a Document Lifecycle Management platform for structured business content such as contracts and official letters. It uses open formats including Markdown and JSON and supports self-hosted deployment.
Features and best fit
Based on official documentation; not hands-on tested · Content checked:
Key features
Keep structured business documents in open formats
Document content is built around formats such as Markdown and JSON, reducing dependence on proprietary binary document formats for authoring and reuse.

Best fit
Fits organizations controlling contract and document workflows in their own environment
It is relevant when templates, structured content, collaboration, and document distribution should be managed in a self-hosted platform.

Before adoption
Plan operations for a relatively broad dependency stack
Even the backend relies on PostgreSQL, MinIO, Typesense, and several document-processing tools. Review version compatibility, backup, object storage, and search-index operations together.
Replace all example secrets and default credentials
The example environment includes sample application keys, MinIO credentials, and admin credentials. Generate unique production values and move them into a proper secret-management system.

Review AGPL-3.0 obligations for network-service deployment
Wraft is AGPL-3.0 licensed. Modified deployments offered over a network should be reviewed for the license's corresponding source-code obligations.

Supplemental curator note
Wraft manages structured business documents such as official letters and contracts using open formats including Markdown and JSON. Its Phoenix/Elixir backend combines PostgreSQL, MinIO, Typesense, Pandoc, LaTeX, and Typst, so deployment complexity should be evaluated alongside document-generation requirements.
Try it in 3 steps
- 1
Clone Wraft and review prerequisites
Review the INSTALLATION.md prerequisites including Elixir/Erlang, PostgreSQL, MinIO, Typesense, Pandoc, ImageMagick, LaTeX/Typst, and Java.
git clone https://github.com/wraft/wraft.git && cd wraft - 2
Load environment values and set up the project
