概要
async-graphqlはRust向けGraphQL server libraryです。static/dynamic schema、async resolver、subscription、file upload、DataLoader、Apollo Federationなどを提供し、Poem・Axum・Actix WebなどのHTTP serverへ接続できます。

主な特徴
Rust型とmacroからGraphQL Schemaとresolverを定義する
Objectなどのprocedural macroを使ってRustの型・methodをGraphQL objectとfieldへ対応させます。static schemaだけでなくdynamic schemaも提供し、async/awaitでresolverを実装できます。

subscription・DataLoader・Federationまでserver機能を拡張する
WebSocket subscription、batch query、DataLoader、persisted query、Apollo Federation v2、custom extensionなどをfeatureとして組み合わせられます。Web frameworkとの接続はintegration crateで分離されています。

SchemaをRust型とprocedural macroで表現し、Poem・Axumなどへintegration crateで接続する構成です。productionではquery depth・complexity・directive数の上限を明示し、公開APIの計算量を無制限にしない設計が重要です。

安定版7.2.1のsourceとexampleを取得する
crates.ioの7.2.1 packageに対応するcommitへ固定し、同時点の公式examples submoduleを取得します。

libraryをbuildする
stable 7.2.1 sourceをbuildし、Rust toolchainとdependencyが揃っていることを確認します。
cargo build - 3
Axum Star Wars exampleを起動する
公式examples repositoryのAxum integrationを実行し、GraphQL schemaとHTTP server integrationを確認します。
cd examples && cargo run --bin axum-starwars
