Overview
BugPin embeds a lightweight widget in web applications so users can capture and annotate screenshots and send them to a self-hosted server together with network, console, browser, and device context. It also supports offline report buffering and GitHub Issues forwarding.
Features and best fit
Based on official documentation; not hands-on tested · Content checked:
Key features
Annotate screenshots with arrows, shapes, text, and privacy blur
Visual markup makes it easier to identify the affected UI area and expected behavior than a text-only issue report.

Automatically capture failed requests, console errors, and device metadata
Reports can include 4xx/5xx network requests, console errors, and OS/browser/device context for faster initial diagnosis.

Queue reports offline and forward them to GitHub Issues
Reports can be cached locally while offline and synchronized after connectivity returns, and projects can forward reports into GitHub Issues.

Best fit
Fits QA and internal-user reporting of UI bugs with reproduction context
It is useful when frontend defects should arrive with both a visual explanation and technical browser context instead of requiring reporters to assemble evidence manually.

Before adoption
Change the default administrator password immediately
The official quick start documents admin@example.com / changeme123 as the initial credentials. Change them before exposure and configure domain allowlists, rate limits, and other security controls.

Supplemental curator note
BugPin lets users report issues from the page while attaching annotated screenshots, failed 4xx/5xx requests, console errors, and browser/device context. The embedded widget is MIT-licensed while the Admin Console is AGPL-3.0, so licensing depends on the component being modified or distributed.
