Before adoption
The service and client SDKs live in separate repositories
argos-ci/argos contains the service, while Playwright and other upload integrations are maintained in argos-ci/argos-javascript. Adoption involves understanding both sides.
Local service development has several infrastructure prerequisites
The contributing guide requires pnpm, PostgreSQL, Docker Compose, local hostnames, mkcert certificates, and database setup, so running the service code locally is more involved than installing a test adapter.

Install the Playwright integration
Add the official Argos integration to an existing Playwright project.

Configure the reporter and screenshots
Follow the official README to register the reporter in playwright.config.ts and call argosScreenshot(page, "name") for the UI states you want to compare.

Upload from CI
Provide the project token as an environment variable and run the tests so captured screens are uploaded to an Argos build. Do not commit the token to the repository.
