OSS Tanbou

connect logs, metrics, traces, and session replay on ClickHouse

About these scores

OSS scale score is an unbounded metric that log-compresses and weights Stars, Watchers, Forks, and Contributors. Discovery score is the current OSS scale score minus the score at discovery. Update pace is commits in the last 30 days, growth momentum is the OSS scale score difference within the recent observation window, and OSS health is a 0–100 rating based on available recency, Community Health, and release data.

Overview

HyperDX stores OpenTelemetry data in ClickHouse and correlates logs, metrics, traces, session replay, and errors through shared search, dashboard, and alerting workflows.

Features and best fit

Based on official documentation; not hands-on tested · Content checked:

Key features

Correlate multiple telemetry signals in one investigation flow

Engineers can move from a log to its trace, session replay, and related metrics while keeping production context in one interface.

Build on ClickHouse and OpenTelemetry

HyperDX can work over existing ClickHouse schemas and ingest vendor-neutral telemetry through an OpenTelemetry collector.

Best fit

Fits teams consolidating high-volume telemetry around ClickHouse

It is useful when log management, APM, frontend monitoring, and session replay should share one ClickHouse-centered stack instead of separate tools.

Before adoption

Plan resources and exposed ports for self-hosting

The README recommends at least 4 GB RAM and 2 CPU cores even for testing, and UI, API, and OTLP ports must be handled deliberately at the firewall.

Disable anonymous usage statistics when required

Usage statistics are enabled by default for open-source deployments. Set USAGE_STATS_ENABLED=false when those statistics should not be sent.

Supplemental curator note

HyperDX is a core ClickStack component that correlates logs, metrics, traces, session replays, and errors on top of ClickHouse. It is MIT-licensed and offers an all-in-one container for evaluation. Anonymous usage statistics are enabled by default for open-source deployments but can be disabled with USAGE_STATS_ENABLED=false. The README recommends at least 4 GB RAM and 2 CPU cores for testing.

Try it in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Pull the all-in-one image

Get the evaluation image containing ClickHouse, HyperDX, OpenTelemetry Collector, and MongoDB.

    docker pull docker.hyperdx.io/hyperdx/hyperdx-all-in-one
  2. 2

    Start HyperDX

Run the all-in-one stack with the UI and OTLP gRPC/HTTP endpoints exposed.

    docker run --rm --name hyperdx -p 8080:8080 -p 4317:4317 -p 4318:4318 docker.hyperdx.io/hyperdx/hyperdx-all-in-one
  3. 3

    Check the UI

Confirm an HTTP response, then open http://localhost:8080. Set USAGE_STATS_ENABLED=false when anonymous usage statistics should be disabled.

    curl -I http://localhost:8080
