Source development has a broad build surface
The Makefile builds webpack bundles and deploys WebAssembly, model, media, and other runtime assets, making development heavier than a simple static frontend.

Jitsi Meet provides browser and mobile clients plus Web and native SDKs. Self-hosting involves more than the frontend and typically includes components such as Jitsi Videobridge, so production deployments should plan networking, TURN, scaling, and monitoring.
