self-host a link-in-bio profile and keep control of the page, domain, and data

About these scores

OSS scale score is an unbounded metric that log-compresses and weights Stars, Watchers, Forks, and Contributors. Discovery score is the current OSS scale score minus the score at discovery. Update pace is commits in the last 30 days, growth momentum is the OSS scale score difference within the recent observation window, and OSS health is a 0–100 rating based on available recency, Community Health, and release data.

Overview

LinkStack is a self-hosted link-sharing platform for collecting social profiles, websites, and other destinations on one customizable profile page. It aims to preserve the convenience of Linktree-style services while letting operators control their own server, themes, domains, and data.

Features and best fit

Based on official documentation; not hands-on tested · Content checked:

Key features

Collect many destinations behind one customizable profile URL

A social profile can point to one LinkStack page that organizes websites, social accounts, projects, and other links.

Reduce terminal work with a setup wizard and themes

The release archive can be placed in a web root and configured from the first-run setup page, while the theme ecosystem changes presentation without rebuilding the application.

Sources: [2]

Use the official Docker image for self-hosting

The official image packages Alpine, Apache2, and PHP and supports both HTTP and HTTPS with a persistent volume.

Best fit

Fits users who do not want to hand profile data to a hosted link-in-bio provider

It is relevant when a personal or organizational profile page should run under a controlled domain and infrastructure with stronger ownership of data.

Before adoption

Use persistent storage

The Docker guide recommends persistent storage mounted at /htdocs so profile data and uploads survive container recreation.

Use HTTPS behind a reverse proxy

The Docker documentation explicitly recommends HTTPS for reverse-proxy deployments. Public instances also need certificate, domain, and backup planning.

Review AGPL-3.0 obligations for modified network services

LinkStack is AGPL-3.0 licensed, so operators offering modified versions over a network should review corresponding-source obligations.

Supplemental curator note

LinkStack provides a Linktree-style profile page that can run on your own server so profile design, links, and usage data remain under your control. It supports a simple release-zip setup flow as well as an official Docker image.

Try it in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Pull the official image

Fetch the official LinkStack Docker image, which supports multiple architectures including amd64 and arm64.

    docker pull linkstackorg/linkstack
  2. 2

    Start with persistent storage

Mount /htdocs on a persistent volume so profile data and uploads survive container recreation.

    docker volume create linkstack && docker run -d --name linkstack -p 80:80 -p 443:443 --restart unless-stopped --mount source=linkstack,target=/htdocs linkstackorg/linkstack
  3. 3

    Complete the setup wizard

Configure the instance from the first-run setup page. For public deployment, set the domain and enable HTTPS, including behind a reverse proxy.

    Open http://localhost
