Overview
OpenSign is an open-source e-signature platform for PDF signing, signature requests, multi-signer flows, templates, and audit trails. It provides a hosted service and a Docker-based self-hosting path.

Before adoption
Replace development defaults before production use
The README warns that the default MongoDB deployment is not persistent, and the example environment contains development-oriented values. Production setups need persistent storage, mail, secret, and signing-certificate configuration.

Most covered code is AGPL-3.0 with a separately licensed path
The LICENSE assigns separate terms to a customRoute directory and makes the remaining covered code available under AGPL-3.0. GitHub reports the repository SPDX value as NOASSERTION.

Supplemental curator note
OpenSign covers signature requests, reusable templates, audit trails, and APIs while remaining deployable on your own infrastructure. The Docker example contains development-oriented defaults, so production setups should replace secrets and plan persistent MongoDB, mail, and signing-certificate configuration.

Clone OpenSign
Fetch the official repository containing its Docker Compose and Caddy configuration.
git clone https://github.com/OpenSignLabs/OpenSign.git && cd OpenSign - 2
Prepare the local environment file
Create the environment file consumed by the documented Docker setup. The defaults are for evaluation; replace secrets, mail, and signing-certificate settings for production.
cp .env.local_dev .env.prod - 3
Start with Docker Compose
Start OpenSign, its API, MongoDB, and Caddy. Production deployments should separately plan persistent MongoDB, TLS, and secret management.
