Use Redis commands, connection management, Sentinel, and Cluster from Ruby

About these scores

OSS scale score is an unbounded metric that log-compresses and weights Stars, Watchers, Forks, and Contributors. Discovery score is the current OSS scale score minus the score at discovery. Update pace is commits in the last 30 days, growth momentum is the OSS scale score difference within the recent observation window, and OSS health is a 0–100 rating based on available recency, Community Health, and release data.

Key features

Core capabilities

Redis#call sends arbitrary commands while common commands are exposed as Ruby methods; RESP2/RESP3 and the optional hiredis-client parser are supported.

Sentinel discovery and Cluster slot routing are built in, with configurable reconnect attempts and read/write timeouts.

Best fit

Where it fits

It fits Ruby services that use Redis for caches, job state, or short-lived data and may grow from one connection to Sentinel or Cluster.

Before adoption

Version 6.0.0 requires Ruby 3.2+. Tests require a Redis server. Reconnects may resend commands, so design non-idempotent operations, credentials, and timeouts explicitly.
