Overview
Cloud Foundation Fabric is a Google Cloud toolkit containing landing-zone blueprints and reusable Terraform modules. It covers organization, projects, networking, IAM, GKE, data, security, serverless, and other foundational services and is designed to be cloned or forked into an organization-owned infrastructure repository.
Features and best fit

Key features
Build a GCP organization foundation with the FAST landing-zone toolkit
Fabric FAST combines an enterprise-oriented organization design with a Terraform reference implementation that can bootstrap and structure a production cloud foundation.

Reuse modules across foundational, network, compute, data, and security services
The repository contains modules for projects, folders, IAM, VPCs, load balancers, GKE, Cloud SQL, KMS, Secret Manager, Cloud Run, and many other Google Cloud resources.

Fork and adapt modules that stay close to provider resources
Modules aim for relatively lean interfaces close to underlying provider resources and avoid external-command side effects, making them practical to fork and customize.

Best fit
Fits platform teams standardizing GCP landing zones with Terraform
It is useful for teams that want reusable organization policy, project factories, networking, and security foundations maintained in an owned production repository.

Before adoption
v59 requires Terraform 1.12.2+ and Google provider 8.4.x
The default Terraform versions require Terraform >= 1.12.2 and google/google-beta providers >= 8.4.0, < 9.0.0; upgrades should validate provider boundaries with a plan.
Sources: [2]
Review breaking changes at the module and variable level on major upgrades
Version 59.0.0 renames agent modules, changes networking configuration, adjusts project-factory schemas, and removes an IAP recipe among other breaking changes. Update module sources and inputs deliberately and review Terraform plans.

Supplemental curator note
Version 59 requires Terraform 1.12.2+ and Google provider 8.4.x. Major releases can rename modules and change schemas, so review release notes and Terraform plans before production upgrades.
Try it in 3 steps
- 1
Fetch Cloud Foundation Fabric v59.0.0
Pin the major release so its breaking-change baseline is explicit.
git clone --depth 1 --branch v59.0.0 https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/cloud-foundation-fabric.git cloud-foundation-fabric-59 - 2
Inspect Terraform and Google provider requirements
Confirm the v59 baseline of Terraform >=1.12.2 and google/google-beta providers >=8.4.0,<9.0.0.
grep -E 'required_version|version = ">= 8\.4\.0' cloud-foundation-fabric-59/default-versions.tf - 3
Check module formatting without planning or applying infrastructure
Validate representative HCL formatting without credentials or Google Cloud resource changes. Review release notes before running a production plan.
terraform fmt -check -recursive cloud-foundation-fabric-59/modules/gcs
