Before adoption
Web builds need tooling beyond Flutter
Version 2.25.0 requires Flutter 3.38.9, while the web target also needs Rust, yq, and the flutter_vodozemac prepare-web.sh step.
The client and Matrix homeserver are separate components
config.json points the client at a selected homeserver. This repository does not itself provide the complete decentralized messaging backend.

Supplemental curator note
Twake Chat is a Matrix-based decentralized chat client supporting messages and files, voice messages, public and private groups, Spaces, end-to-end encryption, and cross-signing. Version 2.25.0 expects Flutter 3.38.9, and the web target requires Rust plus a flutter_vodozemac preparation step. The client selects a Matrix homeserver; operating the server itself is a separate concern.

Clone Twake Chat v2.25.0
Prepare Flutter 3.38.9, Chrome, Rust, and yq before checking out the release source.

Prepare web dependencies and configuration
Adjust config.json to point at the Matrix homeserver and test environment you intend to use.
cp config.sample.json config.json && ./scripts/prepare-web.sh && flutter pub get && flutter pub run build_runner build --delete-conflicting-outputs - 3
Run in Chrome
Start the Flutter web client and verify login and end-to-end encryption against the configured Matrix homeserver.
