Split costs equally, by percentage, shares, exact amounts, adjustments, or settlements, while attaching categories, currencies, dates, and receipt images. Negative expenses support refunds and corrections.

Before adoption

Configure at least one supported authentication provider

Split Pro uses NextAuth with email magic links, Google OAuth, and OIDC providers such as Authentik or Keycloak. Username-and-password authentication is not supported.

Persist both recurring-transaction state and receipt files

Recurring transactions require PostgreSQL with pg_cron, while receipts are stored in the local uploads directory. Docker deployments should persist both database and uploads volumes.

Choose between main builds and stabilized releases deliberately

Supplemental curator note

Split Pro provides a self-hosted Splitwise-style workflow for entering expenses, balances, and settlements. Password authentication is not supported, so deployments must configure email, Google OAuth, or an OIDC provider before users can sign in.

Try it in 3 steps

    Clone Split Pro and open the Docker setup

    Move into the documented production Compose setup containing PostgreSQL and Split Pro.

    Configure environment variables and authentication

    Use the generated value for NEXTAUTH_SECRET, replace the database password, and configure at least one of email, Google OAuth, or OIDC authentication.

    Start Split Pro

    Start PostgreSQL and the application, then open http://localhost:3000. The official Compose setup persists pg_cron-backed recurring state and receipt uploads.
